PT Health Sponsored Bobsled wins BRONZE!

Olympian Christina Smith is a well-known figure in the field of bobsledding. Smith and her brakeman Lesa Stringer, led the Canadian 2 sled to their fourth place finish at the fifth Women’s Bobsleigh World Cup in Igls, Austria that landed her in a position to be eligible to compete for a coveted spot at the 2002 Salt Lake Games in February.

A Montreal native, Smith recently raced at the Whistler 2010 Olympic bobsled track on March 21, 2009, bringing back memories of her dedicated and determined efforts in 1999 qualifying races in preparation for the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2002.

Christina and her teammate Paula McKenzie made history at that Olympic Games, being the first Canadian women to make their debut, and a lasting impression, in the sport, which for the first time welcomed women to compete in the Bobsledding competition. “We are history makers, that’s so cool,” Smith said at the time.
